Ivonne Serna is a Mexican documentary filmmaker and producer. She believes that the fight for climate justice is inherently cultural and uses film and media as tools to influence discourse and imagine more sustainable futures. Through her work, she bridges the gap between research, policy, and public engagement, aiming to inspire change through compelling narratives. Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Ivonne has collaborated with NGOs, academic institutions, and global media platforms, including the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy. Her contributions have been instrumental in key conversations around pressing global challenges. She has received support from prestigious organizations such as The Miller/Packan Documentary Fund, The Rogovy Foundation, and The Redford Center. In 2023, Ivonne graduated from the Documentary Campus Masterschool, one of Europe’s leading documentary programs. She is also the co-founder of ECOS, a small impact studio focused on environmental storytelling. At ECOS, Ivonne develops strategic impact campaigns for independent productions, with a mission to elevate the voices of filmmakers dedicated to creating meaningful change through their craft.
