Samantha Wright uses storytelling to mobilize environmental and social action, at scale. Samantha most recently worked with Paul Hawken to set-up Project Regeneration, where she led the organization’s work to inspire the regeneration of the world.
Samantha comes to this work from the film industry. Previously, Samantha was Senior Vice President of Social Impact at Participant, where she built campaigns around narrative and documentary films like Dark Waters and American Factory. Before this, she worked closely with filmmaker Jeff Orlowski to set-up the impact arm of Exposure Labs, experimenting with how to bridge art to climate activism with films like Chasing Ice and Chasing Coral.
Samantha’s fascination with storytelling for social change began when she lived in China running TEDxBeijing, and it turned into an obsession while leading Girl Rising’s expansion to India. Samantha has an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford, and lives in Berkeley, CA raising two tiny humans.
